Amy Winehouse quizzed by police over drug claim
LONDON (Reuters) - Soul singer Amy Winehouse has been questioned by police over an allegation of drug possession, a police source said on Wednesday. The 24-year-old singer, who entered a clinic last month to treat her well-publicized drug addiction, was interviewed under caution but not arrested.
Rebecca De Mornay gets probation for driving drunk
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actress Rebecca De Mornay, best known for starring opposite Tom Cruise in the hit film "Risky Business," was sentenced to three years' probation on Tuesday after pleading no contest to drunken driving. De Mornay also was ordered by Superior Court Judge H. Chester Horn to enroll in a three-month alcohol-education program and pay fines, restitution and fees totaling more than $1,400.
Beatles' Indian guru Maharishi Yogi dies
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The guru to the Beatles who introduced transcendental meditation to the West, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, died at his Dutch home overnight, aides said on Wednesday. He was said to be 91. The reclusive Indian mystic shot to international prominence when the Beatles -- John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr -- visited him in the foothills of the Himalayas in 1968 to learn his transcendental meditation techniques.
