Concerned About Concurrent Receipt
In the November magazine's RETIREE/VETERANS Focus within Washington Update you pointed out the accomplishment of passing the Concurrent Receipt of Disability Payments (CRDP) for veterans with 100 percent disability without the phase-in period.
I praise your efforts in this. However, there is another category of veterans that need your immediate help.
Guard and Reserve members with 20 years of creditable Guard/Reserve service, who also are drawing disability under Chapter 21 are not allowed to receive CRDP until they reach age 60 (regardless of percent of disability). Although nothing in Public Law 108-136 prevents them from receiving it now.
Some retirees were receiving the CRDP and then after several months it was canceled. This should be a red flag to NGAUS.
NGAUS needs to address this issue.

Thank You From Iraq
I send you this greeting to say that I am very greatful for all of your support, gifts, and expressions of love during this deployment!
I have never known such an outpouring and am truly amazed that so many have taken the time to say they care. My family and I appreciate all that you have done to make this a time of joy and we are humbled by your love.
So, on behalf of all of the soldiers, sailors, airmen, coalition forces, and civilian contractors in Iraq, all separated from their families and loved ones this holiday season, my prayer lor you is that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
