Sound Level Meter and Analyzer
Quest Technologies has introduced the new SoundPro SE/DL hand-held sound level meter and real-time frequency analyzer and has also updated its QuestSuite Professional II software. Instrument setup is as simple as a mouse click selection from a library of predefined and userdefined application profiles; all models are multilingual. High-speed USB communication allows rapid programming and data transfer. All meters incorporate two virtual sound level meters for simultaneous measurements with multiple regulatory requirements. Meters equipped with 1/1- or 1/3-octave real-time frequency analysis allow users to choose between RTA and broadband measurement models for one of the virtual sound level meters. Quest Technologies, Oconomowoc, WI.

Low-Cost Accelerometer
Wilcoxon Research has added another low-cost sensor to its family of generalpurpose accelerometers. Model 788A has a sensitivity of 100 mV/g at a 10% tolerance. It is a single-axis sensor with an acceleration range of ±50 g (full scale). High-frequency response measurements up to 10 kHz identify faults and improper machine operation, ensuring that maintenance professionals are aware of potentially damaging conditions. The unit operates normally between 0 -50° and 120° C. Additional features include exceptional shielding, ground isolation, and hermetic sealing against environmental contamination. Wilcoxon Research, Gaithersburg, MD.

New Signal Conditioner
The Model 410A01 signal conditioner from the Force/Torque Division of PCB Piezotronics is designed for operation with integrated-circuit piezoelectric (ICP*) force or strain sensors and is ideally suited for monitoring forces experienced during manufacturing, assembly, on-line processes, quality assurance or end-of-line product testing. The unit synchronizes with machine cycles through a reset feature, while analog and peak hold outputs allow for real-time monitoring. It is ideal for monitoring and other product quality assurance applications requiring measurement of repetitive-force curves, where control limits are set on the peak force or signature to prevent acceptance of nonconforming parts. DIN rail mounting offers convenient installation into protective enclosures to withstand harsh, industrial environments. PCB Piezotronics, Inc., Depew, NY

Wideband Recording System
R.C. Electronics has introduced the new TEAC DS-Series hard-disk instrumentation data recorders. The DS-Series provides a complete digital acquisition, storage and data file retrieval solution for wide-bandwidth data collection applications. Pyrotechnic shock, structural dynamics, and rotational analysis requirements will all benefit from the fast sampling rates and high storage capacity of the DS series. ease of access to the digital data files for analysis by software applications gives users accurate evaluation of test results. As the North American Distributor for TEAC data recorders, R.C. Electronics markets, sells, and supports the TEAC product line along with its own line of dynamic signal-conditioning and data acquisition systems. U.C. Electronics Inc., Santa Barbara, CA.

New Handheld Vibration Meter
Columbia has introduced the Model VM300 vibration meter, a general-purpose unit for periodic routine vibration checks of industrial machinery and field use where portability and ease of use are required. It operates from a rugged, precision piezoelectric accelerometer and incorporates a charge amplifier input stage for stability and minimizing errors. Operation is controlled by an internal, integrated microcontroller acting under direction of a splash-resistant, seven-key membrane pad. The sensor probe contains a Columbia piezoelectric accelerometer that outputs an electric charge proportional to the instantaneous value of the applied acceleration. This charge signal is communicated to the VN-300 through a low-noise coaxial cable. Columbia Research Laboratories, Inc., Woodlyn, PA

Serial-to-Ethernet Converter
DGH Corporation introduces the A3000 serial-to-ethernet converter, which provides a gateway between an RS-232/422/ 485 serial port and a 10/100 base-T ethernet port. It provides an easy and economical way to monitor and control data from any place via the Internet. Serial ports are widely used for communication in industrial measuring and monitoring equipment, while ethernet is a defacto standard in process control, building and plant automation. The A3000 easily connects any serial device to the Internet without any modification of user software and allows any host computer access to the serial port as a virtual COM port via an IP address. It also acts as an Internet server, allowing direct connection to applications via the serial port. DGH Corporation, Manchester, NH.
