National Guardsmen with a long record of outstanding service or who have performed a life-saving act and elected officials who strongly support the Guard are potential candidates for the 2008 NGAUS individual awards.
Association officials mailed complete awards information last month to every; joint-force headquarters and state and territory Guard association.
Award program basics are also available at www.ngaus.org/awards.
NGAUS must receive nominations by May 15.
A five-person awards committee will review the nominees in June and make recommendations to the NGAUS board for final approval.
NGAUS will notify recipients in late July and present the awards during business sessions of the 130th NGAUS General Conference and Exhibition, Sept. 19 to 22 in Baltimore.
