National Guardsmen are eligible for new Small Business Administration (SBA) loans aimed at helping current and former military members who own or want to start their own business.

The Patriot Express Pilot Loan is the latest extension to the financial, procurement and technical assistance the agency provides the military, an SBA release said last month.

It's a streamlined loan product based on the SBA Express Program, but with enhanced guarantee and interest rate characteristics, the release said.

Local SBA district offices will have a listing of Patriot Express lenders in their areas. Details on the initiative are available at www.sba.gov/patriotexpress.
