Three deployed Army National Guard soldiers lost their lives in April while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, according to Defense Department casualty reporting.

* Staff Sgt. Bradley D. King, 28, of Marion, lnd., died April 2 in Al Amiriyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Sergeant King was a member of the Indiana Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 152nd Infantry, 76th Brigade Combat Team from Marion, lnd.

* Staff Sgt. Robert J. Basham, 22, of Kenosha, Wis., died Apr. 14 at Camp As Sayliyah in Doha, Qatar, as a result of injuries from a noncombat incident. His death is under investigation.

Sergeant Basham was a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 126th Field Artillery from Kenosha, Wis.

* Spc. Jeremy E. Maresh, 24, of Jim Thorpe, Pa., died Apr. 24 in Baghdad in a noncombat related incident. His death is under investigation.

Specialist Maresh was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 213th Air Defense Artillery from Spring City, Pa.
