Board of Directors Scheduled to Meet

Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger, NGAUS chairman, will convene the final board of directors' meeting of his two-year term July 18 to 20 at the National Guard Memorial in Washington, D. C.

Fiscal matters, the current legislative session and September's annual general conference will top the agenda.

Board members will review the association's midyear 2008 budget and receive the audit for 2007 before moving on to legislative issues and plans for the 130th General Conference and Exhibition set for Sept. 19 to 22 in Baltimore.

The board will consider nominations for 2008 NGAUS Individual Awards. Membership, strategic planning, future conference locations and current operations are also discussion topics.

In addition, board members will hear reports from the National Guard Executive Directors Association, the Enlisted Association, the Adjutants General Association and the Corporate Advisory Panel.

The proceedings begin with a series of committee meetings July 18.

Set to meet are the NGAUS conference, strategic planning and membership committees.

The governing bodies of the National Guard Educational Foundation (NGEF) and the NGAUS Insurance Trust (NGAUS-IT) also will gather July 18.

The NGAUS officers-chairman, two vice chairmen, treasurer, secretary and immediate past chairman-head the governing bodies of NGAUS, NGAUS-IT and the NGEF.
