Andrea B. WANDERSEE

Vice President

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS, LLC

* Age: 39

* Do you have ideas to attract and keep youth in the Syracuse area? Strong public school systems are critical. In particular, the city of Syracuse - the core of our community - needs adequate resources to educate all of its children from the wide range of socio-economic backgrounds that it serves.

* Where do you see the community and yourself in the next 10 years? Our community will have new challenges and new opportunities and be culturally more diverse, as refugees and immigrants continue to settle in this region.

* Who has been the most influential person in your career? My mother, Winifred D. Wandersee, is the most influential person in my career and my life. She was a college professor, a historian, a writer, and a terrific parent.

* What are your guiding principles in life? I try to live a balanced life, and practice empathy and tolerance towards others.

* What has been your best career decision? Accepting my current position, as it is the job I have most enjoyed.

* How has your life turned out differently than imagined? I did not anticipate how important and special friendships with women of all ages would be.

* What is one of your quirks? Although they may not be quirks, per se, I practice yoga, am trained in Reiki, and have a strong interest in earth-based spirituality.

* What are the core values that have been essential to your success? I embrace learning new skills. I try to be honest, open, and ethical with my coworkers and clients.
