Andrew MILLER

Chief Executive Officer

KBM MANAGEMENT

* Age: 39

* Do you have ideas to attract and keep youth in the Syracuse area? Small and midsize business development will be the key, specifically in the areas of technology and research and development.

* Where do you see the community and yourself in the next 10 years? We have strong regional lending institutions that should continue to let entrepreneurs with good ideas and strong backgrounds have access to the funds necessary for job creation. I plan on growing our family business.

* Who has been the most influential person in your career? My father-in-law, Bob Menikheim, recognized my interest in taking over the family business and put us into a growth mode. My dad, Larry, taught me to pick myself up when I've been knocked down and find and address the next challenge that's out there.

* What are your guiding principles in life? I believe that you get out of life what you put into it.

* What has been your best career decision? Moving to CNY and accepting the invitation to lead KBM Management.

* How has your life turned out differently than imagined? I have to admit I never actually imagined how it was going to turn out in the first place.

* What is one of your quirks? I like to find humor in most everything - not everyone shares that quirk, so it's been known to backfire occasionally.

* What are the core values that have been essential to your success? Work hard, try to see the upside in everything.
