The Pittsburgh Steelers, seeking an unprecedented sixth Super Bowl title, led Arizona 3-0 after the first quarter of Super Bowl 43 on Sunday after having a touchdown wiped out on video review.

Pittsburgh took the opening kickoff in the National Football League championship game and marched 71 yards on six plays to the Cardinals' one-yard line but could not reach the end zone.

After two runs netted nothing, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger ran around the right side on third down and lunged for the goal line.

Referees signaled touchdown but Arizona appealed to a video replay and the call was reversed, officials saying "Big Ben" was down before scoring.

Rather than an all-or-nothing fourth-down play, the Steelers settled for a 19-yard field goal by Jeff Reed 5:15 into the first quarter.

Pittsburgh held on defense and the Steelers drove deep into Arizona territory as the first quarter ended.
