Tiger Woods now has a foursome. The world's top golfer announced on his website on Monday that his wife Elin gave birth to the couple's second child, son Charlie Axel Woods, on Sunday. Their daughter, Sam Alexis, was born in June of 2007.

"Elin and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our son, Charlie Axel Woods, who was born on Sunday, February 8, 2009," Woods said on his website.

"Both Charlie and Elin are doing great and we want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts," he said. "We look forward to introducing Charlie to you at the appropriate time."

Woods' baby boy arrived on the day of the final round of the PGA Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines, a tournament Woods has won six times starting in 1999 and including last year.

Woods has not played since winning his 14th major title last June at the US Open at Torrey Pines due to a knee injury.

But Woods is working on his game after surgery and expected to return within the next few weeks to prepare for the Masters in April.

With 14 titles, Woods ranks only second to boyhood idol Jack Nicklaus' 18 major wins on the all-time list.

One key factor in Woods' comeback plan is now settled with the arrival of the newest Tiger cub.

"As for my comeback to the PGA Tour, a lot depends on the baby," Woods said in a website posting last week. "That takes precedent over anything I do golf-wise.

"Elin, Sam and I are very excited for the new baby to arrive, although that's when the real lack of sleep begins. But I must admit, I am also excited about returning to competition.

"Especially with the baby coming, I'm taking it tournament-to-tournament. With our new addition, it's going to be a hectic spring."

Woods, 33, could make his comeback as early as the World Golf Championships Match-Play Championship at the end of the month.

But based on past entries, he might instead wait for two prime Masters tuneups in March, the World Golf Championships event at Doral or the Arnold Palmer event hosted at Bay Hill, just down the road from Woods' Florida home.
