The White House says President Barack Obama is not going to referee groups who are using Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's death to push for an overhaul of the nation's health care system.
White House spokesman Bill Burton on Thursday said that now is not the time to discuss the political implications of Kennedy's death. But Burton says Obama isn't going to try to police how activists use the Massachusetts Democrat's memory to advance proposed changes to health care system.
Kennedy died on Tuesday in nearby Hyannis Port, Mass. Obama plans to leave his vacation here on Martha's Vineyard to deliver a eulogy.
