BOSTON (Reuters) - The New England Patriots have released wide receiver Joey Galloway and tight end Michael Matthews, the team said on its website (http://www.patriots.com) Tuesday.
Galloway, a 37-year-old 15-year NFL veteran, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent in March. He played in three games this season and had seven receptions for 67 yards.
Matthews was acquired by the Patriots from the New York Giants in a trade last month. He played in three games as a reserve tight end and on special teams.
