A 22-year-old New York mother accused of going out on a midnight beer run when a stove fire erupted in the apartment where her children were left alone has been found guilty of criminally negligent homicide.

Nicole Allen of Rochester had been charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of her 3-year-old daughter. The jury convicted her Monday on the lesser large as well as three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors say Allen was several blocks from home in September 2008 when the stove fire began.

Her 3-year-old died, and her newborn and another toddler were badly burned.

Allen faces up to four years in prison for criminally negligent homicide and one year in prison for each of the other three counts. Sentencing is set for Feb. 23.
