Danny Allsopp scored three times to help D.C. United beat second-tier English team Portsmouth 3-0 Saturday night.

Pablo Hernandez added another goal for United, who also beat AC Milan in May, but have only won three of 17 MLS games.

Portsmouth wore white United uniforms because their jerseys were lost on the flight from their last match in Edmonton, Alberta. They finished their North American tour 2-2.

Portsmouth were relegated from the English Premier League after last season, when they won only seven matches and filed for the British equivalent of bankruptcy.

They were not United's top choice for the friendly, but the date opened when Glasgow Rangers canceled their U.S. tour.
