Montgomery, Cole lead 2nd-half surge as unbeaten Cleveland State beats St. Bonaventure 69-51

Jeremy Montgomery scored 18 points and Norris Cole 16 as unbeaten Cleveland State pulled away in the second half to defeat St. Bonaventure 69-51 on Saturday night.

Montgomery hit a 3-pointer to open the second-half scoring for the Vikings (7-0) and Cole followed with a pair of jumpers to widen a 24-23 halftime lead to 31-23. Cleveland State went on to lead by as many as 22 points.

Andrew Nicholson led St. Bonaventure (3-2) with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and his 3-pointer put the Bonnies ahead by six, 21-15, with 4:34 until halftime. But Cleveland State outscored them 9-2 the rest of the half, taking the lead with 1 second left on Tim Kamczyc's layup.

St. Bonaventure paid the price for committing 24 turnovers to eight for Cleveland State. Nine of the Bonnies' turnovers came in the first 9:02 of the second half, when they fell behind by 18 points.
