Italy's Senate definitively approves austerity budget

ROME (Reuters) - Italy's Senate Thursday definitively approved Prime Minister Mario Monti's 33-billion-euro austerity package aimed at restoring market confidence in the euro zone's third-biggest economy.

The Senate voted 257 to 41 in a confidence vote called to speed the passage of the measures.
