Boston was named on Tuesday by USA Figure Skating as the site selected for the 2014 US Figure Skating Championships, the US qualifying event for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
The meet will be staged January 5-12 ahead of the Games in Russia that will be staged on February 7-23. It will mark the seventh time Boston has hosted the US national championships. Next year's event will be staged in Omaha, Nebraska.
"I'm confident the community's impressive skating history will extend to the 2014 US Championships," USA Figure Skating executive director David Raith said.
The meet typically brings more than 1,500 skaters, coaches and officials together.
