Kings agree to new deal with playoff MVP Quick

Reigning Stanley Cup finals MVP Jonathan Quick has agreed to a long-term contract extension with the Los Angeles Kings.

The 26-year-old American backstopped the Kings through an improbable National Hockey League playoff run with culminated with the franchises first National Hockey League championship.

The Kings rewarded Quick with a 10-year contract extension offer on Thursday which he is expected to officially sign on Sunday, the first day of free agency.

In 20 playoff games, Quick finished with 16 wins and just four losses as he led all goalies in the postseason with a superb 1.41 goals against average. He also had three shutouts. The Kings were the eighth and last seed in the playoffs.

In 249 career regular season games, Quick has a .916 save percentage and 24 shutouts.
