It's late November, so college football crazies across the Sunshine State are making plans to watch their favorite team in a BCS bowl, right? No so fast, my friends (apologies to foul-mouthed Lee Corso). Florida's big three of Miami, Florida State, and Florida will not be heading to any big bowls. Though all are bowl-eligible, the Hurricanes have said they will fold up their tent today, while the Seminoles (7-4) and Gators (6-5) will square off tomorrow in a battle of mediocrity. Both FSU and Florida entered the season with high hopes but neither has lived up to the billing. ``It's time for us to get some respect back,'' said FSU quarterback E.J. Manuel. It's clear he was talking about his team, but the same could be said for the Hurricanes and Gators.

What do the Burger King, Lee Corso and Shaq have in common? No. 1 Oregon's unique play calling. That poster on Oregon's sideline emblazoned with the face of the Burger King is not some sort of advertising ploy. It's a play.

Two paths to improvement
Nov 16, 2009 19:00 EST
One way, but maybe not the only way, to get a better football team is to spend millions more. The hills are alive with the sound of ... well, that isnÕt exactly music now, is it? ItÕs the cacophony of UNLV football fans suggesting cures for what has ailed the program since the advent of the face mask and two platoons.

NCAA Football 07

Storyline: Race for the Heisman has been transformed into "Campus Legend" mode in that you can create your own player which allows you to try to earn the Heisman Trophy, enter your school?s Hall of Fame, plus try to maintain a 2.0 GPA. Yes you have to study and take tests, but that also improves your play on the field. The folks at EA also added a ?Momentum Meter? in which big plays or turnovers can fill up the meter on your side of the ball and make it easier for your team to make even bigger plays. The downfall of the momentum meter is that it can quickly go to the other side with a big play from your opponent.
