ALBANY, New York (Reuters) - New York state lawmakers said the announcement on Wednesday that a former Syracuse University coach will not face sex abuse charges because the statute of limitations had run out could boost efforts to reform state child abuse laws.

ALBANY (Reuters) - New York state lawmakers have introduced proposed reforms to extend the statue of limitations for child sexual abuse crimes and avoid cases such as a former Syracuse University coach who prosecutors said on Wednesday would not face charges because time has run out.
