Lower Smoking Rates Offset by Increased Obesity

U.S. population trading one bad habit for another. If obesity trends continue, the negative effect on the health of the U.S. population will overtake the benefits gained from declining smoking rates, according to a study by University of Michigan and Harvard researchers published in theNew England Journal of Medicine.
