House Speaker John Boehner sounded a warning shot, signaling he wanted a showdown with Democrats as early as this summer over the US debt ceiling, which is scheduled for an increase at year's end. Obama hosted Boehner and other Republican and Democratic congressional leaders for a White House lunch in which he pressed his "to-do list" for Congress, including measures to help small businesses.
