A senior British army officer has warned that the government's plan to axe some of the country's most celebrated battalions is not a "sensible military option", the Daily Telegraph reported on Tuesday. In a letter seen by the paper, Brigadier David Paterson told General Peter Wall, pictured in 2011, he was "bitterly disappointed" by government proposals.
