Ohio97Georgetown83 PROVIDENCE - Coming back to the same building where it survived a first-round scare in the 1989 NCAA Tournament as a top seed against 16th-seeded Princeton, third-seeded Georgetown tried to downplay that near-upset as it went up against No. 14 seed Ohio in the first round of the Midwest Regional. But this time, the Hoyas did not have Alonzo Mourning to save them. Cooper from Chicago, last night they were the Ohio Players, combining to score 54 points. Basset

Bassett, a 6-foot-2-inch junior guard from Terre Haute, Ind., and Cooper, a 5-11 freshman southpaw from Chicago, were the Ohio Players in last night's 97-83 upset of the Hoyas in the first round of the Midwest Regional. Bassett and Cooper combined for 55 points as the Bobcats became the first No. 14 seed in four years to advance to the second round. ``Well, those two guys have been terrific down the stretch,'' said Ohio coach John Groce, who saw his Bobcats (22-14) become the first MAC team in eight years to win an NCAA Tournament game. ``I've said this befo
