A Norwell teenager has been charged with vehicular homicide for allegedly driving drunk Sunday and causing the crash that killed his 18-year-old passenger. Norwell police said a Chrysler Pacifica driven by 18-year-old William Ecclestone crashed on Prospect Street, landing on its roof, at 9:25 p.m. The car struck a tree before rolling over, causing major damage to the passenger side, police said. Ecclestone crawled out of the wreck and suffered minor injuries, police said. His passenger, Ryan O'Donnell of Norwell, was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, where he died a short time later. Ecclestone has been charged with motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence of alcohol, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. He was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail yesterday.
